Description

Cwm Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and early 20th century. It features a timber frame, sandstone rubble with a roughcast finish, a Welsh slate roof, and three brick stacks, including an external end stack to the southwest with a rubble base. The building has a rectangular lobby-entry plan oriented southwest to northeast and consists of one storey and an attic.

The south elevation facing the garden has three early 20th-century dormers with raking tops, irregularly placed. The left-hand dormer has three lights, while the other two, located on either side of the roughly central stack, have two lights each. The ground floor includes three casement windows, each with three lights; the outer windows are likely from the mid-19th century and have segmental heads. There is an entry to the right of center, which is accessed through a glazed early 20th-century porch.

Inside, the farmhouse features 17th-century ledged doors with strap hinges. The north wall, which is timber-framed, is concealed by an early 20th-century extension. The interior also boasts heavy stop-chamfered ceiling beams, with subsidiary stop-chamfered beams and a segmentally-headed blocked opening between two principal rooms to the north of the central stack.
