Description

Westbury House, now divided into Flats 1A and 1B, is an early 19th-century house located on Ryelands Road in Leominster. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped Welsh slate roof, with two brick lateral stacks and an additional brick stack at the rear. It has an L-shaped plan, stands three storeys tall, and includes a cellar. The façade has a three-window range with 6/6 sash windows set in moulded cases beneath gauged brick flat arches. There is a central entrance with a part-glazed six-panel door, which is framed by panelled reveals and topped with a moulded wood pediment hood supported by fluted pilasters. To the left of the entrance is an 8/8 sash window, and to the right is a 6/6 sash window, both also under gauged brick flat arches.

On the right side of the building, there is a coursed sandstone rubble plinth and a shallow canted bay featuring 4/4, 6/6, and 4/4 sash windows beneath a moulded cornice and hood on fluted pilasters. Additionally, there is a late 19th-century three/three sash window under a grooved stucco lintel and a modern two-light casement. The eaves detail is returned. At the rear, there is a single-storey wing that includes a 6/6 sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
