Description

The gatehouse, located about 100 yards west-south-west of Court Farmhouse, was likely built around 1870. It features a combination of brick and timber-frame construction with plaster infill and has a pyramidal tiled roof. The structure has a square plan and provides access from the north-west to the south-east.

The south-east elevation showcases a ground floor supported by brick piers, which are enhanced by a moulded brick cornice. On the first floor, there is a three-light mullioned and transomed window, which is flanked by lozenge-shaped framing. The eaves are supported by brackets, and a weathervane is present. To the right of the gatehouse, there is a staircase that leads to an entry on the north-east side of the first floor. The beams that support the first floor are made of pine and feature deeply cut chamfer stops. This gatehouse is included for its group value, although Court Farmhouse itself is not listed.
