Description

This barn, located about 20 yards west of Lower Stocks, is likely from the 17th to early 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and weatherboarded timber-framing with sandstone rubble additions, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has a rectangular four-bay layout that runs east to west, with a porch on the north side. The north elevation includes a projecting sandstone section to the left and a large gabled weatherboarded porch to the right of the center. The timber frame consists of sections that are two and three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, the barn has trusses with angle struts.
