Description
This barn, located about 70 yards southwest of Turnastone Court Farmhouse, is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed from finely coursed rubble with a brick and asbestos roof. The barn features four bays oriented east to west, with a contemporary lean-to extension on the north side of the western bay and a 19th-century brick extension on the opposite side. There are full-height ledged doors leading to the threshing floor, situated one bay from the east end. Inside, each truss next to the threshing floor includes a cross beam just above ground level that supports a central post, along with two symmetrically placed curved braces connecting to the tie-beam, which carries queen struts.
