Description
This building is a stable and granary located about 15 meters west of Broom Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of squared rubble and features a corrugated asbestos roof with coped verges on rounded kneelers. The structure has two bays and is aligned north-west to south-east, with two levels that are accessed from the gable ends due to the slope of the ground from north-west to south-east.
The south-east gable end includes an elliptical-headed entry on the right and a smaller opening on the first floor. There is a plain door on the north-west gable. The north-east side has a low ogee-moulded doorway framed by plain windows that align with the porch of Broom Farmhouse. Inside, the upper level has dropped tie-beam trusses that support the granary.
