Description

No. 2 High Street is a shop and dwelling, currently functioning as a cafe and dwellings. It dates from the 17th century and was raised and refronted in the 19th century. The building is finished in stucco and features a shallow pitched hipped slate roof. It has four storeys and a cellar, with a single-window range that includes late 19th century 3/3 sash windows in moulded cases on the first, second, and third floors, along with four small fixed lights. The early 20th century shop front has been altered and is topped with a moulded and modillioned fascia-board and hood, supported by stop-consoles on panelled pilasters. The left side of the building has a slate-hung gable. The rear includes a slate-hung wing with 17th century timber framing at the rear gable, as well as a further roughcast wing with a brick axial stack. The interior has not been inspected.
