Description
1 and 3 Millgate are a pair of houses dating from the early 18th century, with a porch added in the mid-19th century and restoration completed in the late 20th century. The houses are timber framed, featuring a brick underbuild and a rendered, colourwashed first floor, with roofs made of pantiles and slate. They have a single central ridge stack and are two storeys high, displaying a two-window range with renewed glazing bar sashes.
On the left, there is a 19th-century single-storey porch that has a recessed 20th-century close boarded door. To the right of the porch is a boxed-in frame post and another 20th-century close boarded door, followed by a glazing bar sash window. Further to the right, there is a 19th-century 20-pane shop window and a renewed four-panel door, all under a common cornice. The left gable features A-shaped wall ties.
