Description

27 and 29 Castlegate is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone alterations in the mid and late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It was likely built as a matching addition to the adjacent property at number 25.

The design includes a single corner pilaster, a wooden band at the first floor, modillion eaves, and a single ridge stack. The building has three storeys and a three-window range featuring 20th-century single pane windows. Above these, there are three smaller windows, all of which have flat arches. On the ground floor, there is a central single pane window with a roughcast surround in a stone frame, and to its left, there is a door. To the right of the door, there is a round-headed entry with imposts.
