Description
Nos 16 and 18 Boar Lane is a house and attached warehouse, now functioning as a house and shop. It dates from around 1800 and has been altered in the late 19th century and late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features hipped pantile roofs. It has a plinth, an incomplete first floor band, a second floor band, dentillated eaves, and two side wall stacks along with a single ridge stack.
The structure is three storeys tall and has a two-window range of segment-headed glazing bar sashes. Above this, there is similar fenestration with smaller sashes. The ground floor features a full-width late 19th-century wooden shopfront with plain pilasters and a bracketed cornice. There are steps leading to a central splayed doorway with a glazed door, flanked by single-pane windows. On the left side, there is a single segment-headed Yorkshire sash on each floor, and below, a blocked door. The two-storey former warehouse has four renewed glazing bar sashes, with a smaller casement to the right and a 20th-century door and external stair to the left, along with a hoist door. Below, to the left, there is a pair of segment-headed close boarded doors with an overlight, flanked by single small oval blank windows. To the right, there are two renewed segment-headed glazing bar sashes.
