Description
Nos 7 and 9 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from pinkish-orange brick and features a pantile roof. It has two storeys and three bays. The entrance is off-centre, featuring a 20th-century glazed door set within a 19th-century pilastered surround topped with a modillion hood. There is an additional entrance at the end, which also has a 20th-century glazed door in a 19th-century pilastered surround, under a hood that extends across the canted shop front, which has plate glass in the third bay. The building has 4-pane sash windows in flush wood architraves with stone sills, set under flat arches of gauged brick, except for the first floor of the third bay, which is canted and features a modillion cornice. The roof is swept, with ridge and end stacks.
