Description
No. 5 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone rebuilding on the ground floor in the 20th century. The building is three storeys tall and has three bays. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The entrance is off-centre and leads to bowed shop fronts from the 20th century. The upper floors have tripartite bow windows, with 12-pane sashes in the centre flanked by 8-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, and 6-pane sashes between 4-pane sashes on the second floor. The ground floor bow window has an ashlar cill and is a replica from the 20th century. There are ashlar cill bands on the first and second floors, and a modillion eaves band. The roof is hipped to the left and features a ridge stack.
