Description
The Angel and White Horse is an inn that now also serves as offices. It dates from the 18th century but has earlier origins, with late 20th century additions to the rear and restoration of the lower part of the first three bays, along with rebuilding of the right three bays. The building features some timber framing, magnesian limestone ashlar, pinkish-orange brick, and a pantile roof. It stands three storeys high and has six bays. The entrance, added in the 20th century, is framed by pilasters and has a hood over it, located at the fifth bay. There is a carriage arch in the third bay, while bays four and six are full-height canted bays. The windows are mainly 12- and 16-pane sashes, and there is a moulded cornice. The roof is hipped to the left and has ridge stacks. Inside, there are further remains of timber framing, including the remnants of a timber-framed arcade under the carriage arch.
