Description
No. 19 Bridge Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and has some alterations from the 19th century. The building is constructed of pinkish-orange brick in Flemish bond, featuring ashlar dressings and a pantile roof. It has a plinth and a recessed off-centre entrance with double doors beneath an oblong fanlight, situated between a 19th-century glazed shop front. To the left, there are double plank carriage doors set in a pilastered surround. The building has a frieze and a modillion cornice running along its length. The second bay features a bow with tripartite sashes, consisting of 16-pane sashes in the center and 8-pane sashes on the sides. The remaining windows are 16-pane sashes set under ashlar wedge lintels, all framed with flush wood architraves and continuous ashlar cill bands. There is a stepped cornice from the 18th century on the right side, while the left side has a plain 20th-century eaves band. The building has stacks at either end.
