Description
Nos 13, 15, and 17 on Bridge Street are a row of three houses, now functioning as a shop. They were built in the late 18th century, with a 19th-century shop front and 20th-century restorations. The buildings are constructed of pinkish-orange brick in Flemish bond, featuring ashlar dressings and a pantile roof. They rise to three storeys and have three bays, with three entrances at the ends and off-centre. The entrances have glazed doors topped with oblong fanlights.
Between the entrances are canted bays that rest on a plinth, all framed by a pilastered surround that has likely been partially renewed. To the right, there is an acanthus console, along with a dentil frieze and cornice. The first floor has an ashlar cill band and features 16-pane sash windows set in flush wood architraves. The second floor also has a cill band and contains unequally hung 12-pane sash windows, all of which are topped with wedge lintels. A plain eaves band and ridge stacks are present, along with an 18th-century fall pipe and rainwater head.
