Description
No 3 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. The building is constructed of pinkish-orange brick and features an ashlar plinth, bands, and window dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof.
It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The plinth is visible, while the ground floor has a modern design with off-centre and end entrances, and many-paned shop windows between them, which are of no particular interest. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars, with the central bay featuring a group of three windows set in moulded ashlar architraves from around 1880. A band runs along the second floor, which has unequally-hung 12-pane sashes, again with the central bay as a group of three, complete with cills and wedge lintels. The building is finished with a modillion eaves band and has stacks at both ends and the ridge.
