Description
Nos. 32, 32A, and 34 on Middlegate in Newark on Trent are two houses that have been converted into a shop. They date from the late 18th century and were restored and altered around 1988. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Notable architectural details include dentillated eaves, a single coped gable, and a single gable tack. The windows are segment-headed with flat arches, arranged over three storeys in a three-window range of glazing bar sashes, with a central blank space. Above this, there is similar fenestration with smaller windows. The shopfront, added in the late 20th century, spans the full width of the building and includes a recessed central doorway flanked by two-light shop windows.
