Description

The boundary wall and gatepiers at the former Gilstrap Library were built in 1882 by William Henman for William Gilstrap. They are constructed from rockfaced ashlar with ashlar dressings and are designed in the Jacobean Revival style. The wall features moulded coping, which originally had a railing. There are two central octagonal piers with square bases and domed caps, each topped with ornate wrought iron lanterns, along with two similar terminal piers.
