Description
The Limes is a farmhouse, now a house, that dates from the late 17th century and late 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and brick, with slate roofs. The building features ashlar dressings, quoins, and coped gables with finials. There are two ridge stacks and two gable stacks, one of which is external. The structure is two storeys high and has a square plan with three bays.
The west front showcases three gables, with the two on the left each featuring a roundel. The central entrance has a flat-roofed rendered porch with a glazed door and fanlight, flanked on the left by a sash window. Beyond this, there are single flat-roofed canted bay windows. Above, there are three sashes, with a round window situated between the two on the left.
On the north side, there is an early 20th-century canted bay window to the left, and to the right, there is a sash window above. The south side has late 19th-century additions on the right, with a 20th-century casement window to the left and a 20th-century conservatory to the right. Above these, there are two sash windows.
The rear elevation features a 20th-century flat-roofed porch to the left, with a casement window, a sash window, and a glazed door to its right. Above, to the right, there is a round window flanked on the left by a Yorkshire sash and on the right by a blocked opening. The two gables to the right each have a round window, with the left one being blocked.
