Description
The Old Post Office is a house located on Main Street in Linby, dating from the mid-18th century, with later 19th and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof and featuring two gable stacks. It has two storeys and three bays. The windows are Yorkshire sashes, and the ground floor openings on the front have segmental heads. The north front includes a central door with timber jambs, flanked by single sash windows. Above this, there are three sashes, with the central one being the smallest. At the rear, there is a single-storey outbuilding to the left with two plank doors, along with a large late 20th-century lean-to bay window and porch. There is also a door with a segmental head and a casement window to the right, with three sashes above.
