Description
Watermill Barn is a barn that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid-18th century and has some 20th-century alterations. The structure is made of coursed and squared rubble, topped with a steeply pitched pantile roof from the 20th century. It features stone dressings and a single external gable stack. The building is two storeys high with five unequal bays and is laid out in an L-shape.
On the north side, there is a door on the left flanked by single breathers, followed by another door and three casements. Further to the right, there is a carriage opening with a timber lintel. Above this, there are six breathers and four casements. The exterior also includes a breast shot water wheel from the mid-19th century, which has been restored and is accompanied by a brick and stone parapet wall.
On the south side, there is a large French window on the left, with two casements and two breathers to the right. Above these, there are three breathers and three casements. To the right, there are single-storey additions from the late 19th and late 20th centuries, which have slate roofs.
