Description

Clematis Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on Main Street in Linby. It has been raised and features a lean-to rear addition from the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and brick, topped with a slate roof. It has two gable stacks and a single rear wall stack. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of three bays. Most of the windows are 20th-century cross casements with painted stone surrounds. The south front has a central door flanked by single casements, with the right casement enclosed by a 20th-century conservatory. Above the door, there are three casements, with the central one being the smallest. The west gable features a casement on each floor to the left.
