Description
The Old Mill is a former cartshed and adjoining outbuilding, now converted into a house. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and brick, topped with a 20th-century pantile roof. It features ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a single side wall stack. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, arranged in an L-plan.
The east front has three cart openings with square piers and segmental heads, each containing three late 20th-century top hung casements. Above these, there are three additional casements. On the south side, there is a casement on each floor to the right. The north gable has an external stair leading to a casement above. The set-back rear wing, which is raised in brick, has a glazed door flanked by single casements, all featuring keystoned ashlar heads. To the right of this wing, there is a large casement, and above it, three more casements. The return angle includes a casement and a door.
