Description
Hamilton's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century and late 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a pantile roof and is partly rendered. The building features a first-floor band, dentillated eaves, and coped gables with kneelers. It has three gable stacks and is two storeys high with five bays, following an L-plan layout.
The windows are primarily Yorkshire sashes, and the front ground floor openings have segmental heads. The street-facing side has a central door flanked by single sashes, with a blocked door to the right. Above this, there are three sashes. There are lower two-storey additions at each end of the farmhouse.
On the northeast side, there are four casements, mostly from the 20th century, and above, to the right, there is a sash window. The rear of the farmhouse features a right-side rear wing with a single bay lean-to addition from the late 19th century. To the left, there is a door and to its right, a sash window. In the return angle, there is a large 20th-century wooden glazed porch, and above, to the right, there is a 19th-century casement. The rear wing has a door and a 20th-century casement on the southwest side, with a blank gabled dormer above.
