Description

The Jubilee Lamp Post is a sign post located in Tuxford's Market Place, dating from 1897. It was restored in 1968 and underwent further refurbishment around 2012. The structure is made of ashlar and iron, featuring two round ashlar steps that support a cast iron post. This post has a decorative plaque that reads "Erected by subscription Tuxford June 1897," along with another plaque detailing the restoration. At the top, the post is adorned with four decorative directional arms and additional ironwork that encloses plaques. Above these elements is a decorative iron arch that holds a central lamp. The lamp post is included for its group value.
