Description
Nos. 14, 16, and 18 Eldon Street in Tuxford are a row of three shops with domestic accommodation. They were originally built in the 18th century but were refronted in the early 19th century, with late 19th-century shop fronts. The buildings are made of red brick with a colour-washed, rendered base and feature a pantile roof that is hipped to the left. The eaves have a dogtooth design and the row is set on a plinth to the left. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays. Each shop front has a large window; the leftmost window has been enlarged and is flanked by single pilasters. To the right of each window is a doorway with a part-glazed door and overlight, also flanked by single pilasters. These pilasters support a continuous entablature, and above the shop fronts are three glazing bar sash windows.
