Description

This canal milepost, located on the east side of the Chesterfield Canal southeast of Otter's Bridge 68, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is made of stone and features a flat head with rounded edges, inscribed with the number '37', indicating the distance from Chesterfield. The Chesterfield Canal itself was constructed between 1771 and 1777.
