Description
The farm buildings at The Grange, dating from the early 19th century, consist of a cow house, barn, stable, coach house with a pigeoncote above, and a bull pen. The structures are built of brick and feature pantile roofs, with dentillated eaves and a pedimented gable. The buildings are both single and two storeys high.
The cow house, located on the left, has a central doorway on the north side flanked by single casement windows. The barn, which has nine bays, features a pair of off-centre barn doors with a timber lintel, a segmental relieving arch, and flanking pilasters. To the left of the barn, there are two breathers and a single casement window, followed by a plank door. To the right, there are two additional breathers, with three pitching eyes and six circular breathers above.
The stable to the right has a door with a timber lintel and three breathers to the right. Above the stable, there is an unglazed square light. The coach house, also to the right, has a central basket-arched doorway flanked by single breathers. The pigeoncote above features a single fixed light and a single casement in a semi-circular pigeonhole recess to the east. The bull pen, located further right, has a single casement to the left and a plank door to the right. The east gable of the barn includes a single round ventilator, and the barn itself has a strutted softwood kingpost roof.
