Description

The Grange is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed of brick, featuring a steep-pitched pantile roof with stone ridges. It has first-floor and eaves bands, cogged and dentillated eaves, tumbled coped gables, and four gable stacks. The building is two storeys high with garrets, and consists of five bays arranged in an L-shaped plan. The main east front has a central timber doorcase with a moulded and reeded design, small curved brackets to a dentillated cornice and pediment, a geometrical overlight, and a three-panel door. Flanking the door are two plain sash windows with segmental heads. Above these are five similar sash windows. Each gable end has a single fixed light. A 19th-century service wing extends to the south, consisting of two storeys and a single bay. This wing incorporates a 20th-century casement window on the left and a plank door on the right, both with segmental heads. Above the door and casement is a single casement window. An approximately 20-meter long boundary wall, built with ramped brick and ashlar coping, runs alongside the property.
