Description
No. 2 Coronation Street is a mid-18th century house that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of brick. The building features a central pediment and a forward-breaking centre, along with a moulded eaves cornice. There are five windows on the upper two storeys, each with keystones and brick voussoirs, and they are fitted with hung sashes that include glazing bars. A late 19th-century shop front also breaks forward from the main structure. To the side, there is a pedimented doorway made of stone with a moulded surround. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension that includes two shop fronts and an additional doorway, along with five windows. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 16 to 24 (even) The Shambles and Nos. 28 to 34 (even), with Nos. 16 to 20 (even) The Shambles and No. 34 being of local interest.
