Description
No 8 on High Street is a mid-18th century building that has been altered. It stands two storeys plus an attic and is four bays wide, constructed of brick with a tiled roof. The ground floor features a central recessed door, which is accessed by three stone steps and set within a pedimented doorcase. To the left of the door is a modern shop window, and to the right is a single recessed sash window. The first floor has four recessed sash windows, and there is a moulded and bracketed cornice along the top, topped by a parapet. This building is part of a group that includes The Crown Hotel and Nos 4 to 10 (even) on the same side, as well as No 1 on the opposite side.
