Description

The canal lock at Canal Wharf, built around 1776, features a blue brick lined chamber with heavy ashlar coping that is stepped at the east end. It has a single top gate equipped with 19th-century fittings, and at the lower end, there is a pair of mitre gates. The lock has undergone later replacements and repairs.
