Description
No. 45 Carlton Road is a house, now used as offices, dating from around 1830. It is built of brick and covered in stucco, topped with a pyramidal slate roof that has stone hips. The building features an ashlar plinth and dentillated eaves, with eight grouped central chimneys. It stands two storeys tall and has three bays.
The main facade, facing north, includes a central porch with an ogee roof made of timber, which has a moulded surround and a half-glazed door with an overlight. This porch is flanked by single margin light glazing bar sash windows that have keystones above them. On the upper level, there are two similar sash windows, and to the left, there is a blocked opening.
The street facade to the left includes a 20th-century shop window, which is flanked on the right by a single glazing bar sash window. Above this, there are two more glazing bar sash windows. The rear elevation has a similar layout to the front.
