Description
The Worksop East Signal Box, built between 1880 and 1885 for the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, is a Grade II listed structure. It features a timber frame with board cladding and a slate roof adorned with ornate bargeboards and finials. The west front includes a single plain sash window on the ground floor, a two-light sliding sash window, and an adjoining three-light window above, along with a small plain sash in the gable. The north front has a first-floor balcony with two central four-light windows, flanked by two-light sliding sash windows. The east front showcases an open wooden staircase leading to a part-glazed door, accompanied by a three-light sliding sash and a two-light sliding sash. Above, there is a small plain sash in the gable. This signal box is included for its group value.
