Description
Acorn House and Gateway is a house and gateway dating from the early 19th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with stucco dressings and features a hipped pantile roof with two brick stacks. The front has three bays and two storeys, with a central six-panelled door that has an overlight. This door is flanked by plain sash windows, and on the first floor, there are three bordered sashes. All the windows have rusticated splayed stucco lintels with dropped keystones. To the left of the house, the garden wall includes a round-headed doorway topped with a rounded pediment, which is surmounted by an acorn finial. The wall on either side of the doorway is ramped up to create curvilinear gables with flat stone coped tops.
