Description
Chapel Farmhouse is a house dating from 1740, with minor alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and brick dressings. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and has raised brick coped gables, along with two yellow brick gable stacks and one axial stack. The building has a lobby entry plan and a five-bay, two-storey front. There is a brick band at the first floor level and brick corbelled eaves.
The entrance is off-centre and features a 20th-century glazed door. To the left of the door is a single two-light Yorkshire sash window, while to the right are two three-light Yorkshire sash windows and another single two-light Yorkshire sash window. On the first floor, there are four similar two-light windows. The ground floor openings have brick segmental heads, and the first-floor windows have brick flat heads that align with the eaves.
To the left of the front elevation, there is a single-storey, single-bay addition that includes a three-light Yorkshire sash window. The right-hand gable end facing the road has an ashlar date stone inscribed with "1740".
