Description
Brook House is a house from the early 19th century, with some minor alterations from the late 19th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins, and has a stone slate roof. The gable is stone-coped with plain kneelers, and there are stone gable end stacks, one of which has been partly rebuilt in brick. The house has three storeys and three bays.
The central entrance features a moulded doorcase with a bracketed stone hood above a glazed panelled door. To the north, there is a plain sash window in a flush surround, while to the south, there is a canted bay window with plain sashes and a moulded cornice. Above this bay, there is a central semi-circular headed plain sash with a projecting keystone and imposts, flanked by plain sashes in flush surrounds. The top storey has three 20th-century windows in the original flush surrounds.
