Description

  1. 1671 ST GEORGE'S SQUARE (South Side) No 18 TF 0307 1/160 22.5.54. II* GV 2. Early C18 and possibly earlier. 2 storeys and attics in ashlar. Stone slate roof with 3 hipped dormers, 2 stone stacks. Block rusticated quoins to left. 5 windows, double-hung sashes with glazing bars in stone surrounds, with rectangular fanlight. Wood modillion eaves cornice. Moulded plinth. Interior:- has fine panelled entrance hall with shouldered moulded doorcases and fine carved overmantel with pediment and scroll brackets. Beams with moulded casing. Partly restored stone fireplace. One window retains heavy glazing bars, others are later type.

The Church of St George, Nos 1 to 7 (consec), Nos 9 to 12 (consec), Outbuilding to no 12 and No 14 to 22 (consec) form a group.

Also Nos 1 to 7 (consec), Nos 9 to l2 (consec), Outbuilding to No l2 and Nos l4 to 22 (consec) with Nos 25 to 26 St Mary's Street form a group.
