Description

  1. 1671 ST GEORGE'S SQUARE (South Side) No 22 (Assembly Rooms) TF 0307 1/163 22.5.54. II* GV 2. Building leave granted l8th April 1727. One storey in ashlar with moulded cornice and parapet. Stone slate hipped roof. 2 blocked round~headed windows, moulded surrounds, flank high central door with block rusticated pilasters, pulvinated frieze and moulded pediment. High double doors under glazed fanlight. Extension to right continues parapet, but in coursed rubble. 2 windows, stone rusticated surrounds with triple keystones, double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Band continues cills. One window on ground floor and door in plain stone surround with triple keystone, rectangrlar fanlight with glazing bars. Interior has no outstanding features, but keeps a good proportion and has not been unduly altered. Links with No 27 St Mary's Street.

The Church of St George, Nos 1 to 7 (consec), nos 9 to 12 (consec), Outbuilding to No 12 andNos 14 to 22(consec) form a group.

Also Nos 1 to 7 (consec), Nos 9 to 12 (consec), Outbuilding to No 12 and No 14 to 22(consec) with Nos 25 and 26 St Mary's Street form a group.
