Description
No. 32 Church Street is a former school house, now a cottage, built in 1858. The structure is made of squared coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a Collyweston slate roof with stone coped gables and kneelers, crested ridge tiles, and a single ridge with an ashlar stack that has paired shafts and a moulded cornice. The building has a lobby entry plan and is a single storey with a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a planked door with Gothick furniture, set in a chamfered Tudor arched surround, flanked by two-light casement windows in mullioned and chamfered stone surrounds. On the left gable, there is a similar window, and above it, a recessed square panel notes the building's erection in 1858.
