Description
The gateway to the Old Rectory, located on the south side of the church at the east end of the chancel, dates from the early 19th century. It features a combination of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar, with a wrought iron gateway that includes a re-used single chamfered early 13th century pointed arch. This arch is adorned with a roll moulded hood and zoomorphic stops. The restored early 19th century wrought iron gate has anthemion terminals and scrolled stiles. The accompanying wall is constructed of coursed limestone rubble topped with Collyweston slate coping.
