Description

The gateway and wall to the Old Rectory were built in the early 19th century and are made of red brick, ashlar, and wood. The central large gateway features a wooden gate and is flanked by single brick piers that have chamfered corners and ashlar caps. On either side of the gateway, there are single brick walls resting on ashlar plinths, which curve around for about 8 metres. The west side includes a small domestic gateway with a wooden gate. The walls then turn at a right angle, continue for about one metre, and end in similar single piers. This structure is included for its group value only.
