Description
The stable block and attached wall and gateway at the Old Rectory, now used as a garage and store, dates from the early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior over red brick with ashlar dressings and has a hipped slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of ten bays. There are two large three-centred arched doorways with plank double doors. To the right, there is a single casement window, followed by a domestic doorway, another single casement, another domestic doorway, two casements, a domestic doorway, and a final single casement. Above these, there are five casement windows, all of which have iron Gothick glazing bars. The domestic doorways are framed with plank doors and ashlar surrounds. Projecting from the right side is a stepped ashlar coped brick wall that includes a large carriage archway.
