Description
This gateway, located approximately 25 meters southeast of the southeast corner of the Old Church and in the old churchyard, dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a moulded Tudor arch with plain spandrels and two moulded cornices. The upper cornice is topped with hipped coping that has a crudely shaped scroll pediment. The pediment is adorned with raised strapwork and incised circular decoration. Iron hinges are present on the west side of the doorway. It is said that this gateway once led to a former vicarage, which was disused by the 18th century and demolished in the 19th century.
