Description

This is an early to mid-19th century cottage located in Churchill. It is built of roughly coursed limestone rubble with a slate roof, featuring projecting purlin and rafter ends. The cottage follows a T-shaped plan. It has leaded latticed casement windows, with one window on each floor to the west gable and to the gable end facing the green; the ground-floor window on the green-facing gable is within a canted bay. The entrance is situated in an angle, with a flush four-panel door sheltered by a contemporary, hip-roofed porch. A prominent axial ashlar stack rises directly behind the ridge, immediately above the roofline. The building is included on the list for its group value.
