Description

The churchyard wall of the Church of St. James was built in 1826 by James Plowman for James Haughton Langston. It is constructed from regularly coursed limestone rubble and features stepped moulded coping along the north, south, and east sides. The west side has narrow pointed arches with hollow spandrels. The wall is supported by square piers that have gabled capping at the center and corners. This structure is included for its group value.
