Description
No. 48 Church Street is a house dating from around 1760. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with ashlar quoins and dressings, and features a Collyweston slate roof with a single ridge and gable red brick stacks. The building is two storeys high with attics and has a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door, which is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there are two similar windows. All openings are topped with ashlar lintels that have raised stepped keyblocks. The roof includes two gabled dormers, which also have glazing bar sashes, weatherboarded cheeks, and stone bases. The window framing features wooden Doric columns.
