Description
Old Post Office Cottage is a 17th-century building that has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It consists of two cottages that have been combined into a single residence. The exterior is made of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and features a pantile roof with a single gable and axial stone stacks. The cottage is a single storey with attics and has a five-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre panelled door, with a single three-light glazing bar casement to the left and three three-light glazing bar casements to the right, all under timber lintels. The roof includes two gabled dormers with three-light casements and rendered cheeks. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams with pyramid stops, and the end room features a stone fireplace with chamfered surrounds, also with pyramid stops.
