Description
Heather Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and features a pantile roof topped with crested ridge-tiles. The building has two stone gable stacks with moulded tops and is a single storey plus attics. The front has three bays, with a central half-glazed door that has a bordered light, flanked by three plain casement windows, each with three lights, set under concrete lintels. To the right of the door, there is a small pointed re-used medieval niche. Above the door, there is a panel featuring the letter "A" for Ancaster, accompanied by a coronet. The roof includes two gabled dormers with plain casements and rendered cheeks. This cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
