Description
The Dairy is a cottage located on the north side of Edenham Main Street in Grimsthorpe. It dates back to the 17th century but was remodeled in the late 19th century. The original timber frame structure has been updated with coursed squared limestone rubble, decorative tile hanging, and a pantile roof featuring crested ridge tiles. The building has a single storey with attics and a four-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre panelled door topped with a hipped tiled hood. To the left of the door is one three-light glazing bar casement, and to the right are two more three-light glazing bar casements. The wall has a stone base, and behind the upper tile hanging, there is preserved evidence of the original timber frame. The roof includes three gabled dormers at eaves level, each with two-light 20th-century casements and rendered cheeks.
